A moving checklist that follows your date
Set your moving day, choose a region and decide whether you will hire movers or move yourself. The planner works backwards from that date, then includes a few settling-in tasks. Start late? Use the “Due now” filter to find unfinished tasks with suggested dates on or before today. You can complete them in the order that fits your situation.
The dates are planning suggestions made by Pennyloom. They are not legal deadlines, confirmed appointments or instructions from the linked agencies. Your lease, utility supplier, mover and local authority may require a different timetable. Check their current requirements directly.
Keep the plan useful, without giving us your address
Your task ticks, date and custom tasks stay in this browser when you choose local saving. They do not sync between devices. Private browsing, clearing website data or a full browser reset can remove them. Download a backup if you want to keep a copy. A storage warning means your changes will only last while this page is open.
The normal interactive planner runs on your device. Without JavaScript, the form sends your date, region and moving method to this site's server to render a dated checklist; it does not save a personal plan in the database. Local usage counters record actions such as creating a plan or exporting a calendar, not your date or task text. Do not enter addresses, account numbers or confidential details in custom tasks. Calendar and backup files contain your task text; keep them private.
A date is not a reminder
Calendar export creates an all-day event for each unfinished task. Import the downloaded .ics file into a calendar application you trust. This site does not send notifications, create a Google Calendar connection or add alarms. Importing the same plan repeatedly can create duplicate events in some calendar applications. Completed tasks stay out of the export.
Changing the moving date reschedules the built-in tasks. Custom tasks keep their own dates. Reset removes the plan saved by this tool in this browser after confirmation; it does not remove events already imported into your calendar.
Match the checklist to the move
For a US interstate move with hired movers, check the mover's federal registration and understand its liability options using FMCSA's moving checklist. Local moves can have different oversight. If you need mail forwarding, check the current eligibility and charges through USPS.
In England and Wales, ask the appropriate council about setting up Council Tax at the new address; GOV.UK's guidance explains where to start. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different arrangements. In Canada, use the CRA address-change instructions where applicable, and tell other agencies separately. In Australia, check Services Australia's moving-house guidance if you use its services. These links do not replace a complete list of obligations for your household.
Put the costs beside the tasks
Use the moving budget calculator to separate expenses from refundable deposits and see the cash you need before moving day. Compare the same inclusions with the moving quote comparison. Estimate packing space with the moving volume calculator. None of these estimates is a binding mover quote.
